Good to know for 2027
- When the clocks go forward on Sunday 28 March 2027, 1am becomes 2am, so you get an hour less in bed. This is the same day as Easter Sunday, so you lose an hour's sleep over the Easter weekend.
- When the clocks go back on Sunday 31 October 2027, 2am becomes 1am, so you get an extra hour. That is also Halloween.
- Phones and computers change automatically. Ovens, car clocks and some heating timers usually need changing by hand.
- The clocks went back most recently on Sunday 25 October 2026, so the UK is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) until Sunday 28 March 2027.
Dates follow the UK Summer Time rule published on GOV.UK (last Sunday in March and October).
